Four tracks. Every one of them free.
Start at the alphabet or pick up where you left off years ago. Each track runs in ordered stages, and you can sit in on a session before you commit.
Arabic Language
From letter shapes and sounds through to reading unvowelled text and writing your own paragraphs. Levels 1–3 are conversational; 4–6 add grammar, morphology and composition.
- Level 1–2 — alphabet, greetings, everyday speech
- Level 3–4 — sentence structure, past and present verbs
- Level 5–6 — grammar (naḥw), morphology (ṣarf), composition
Cultural Studies
A season-long look at the traditions the language carries: poetry, calligraphy, music, food, and the histories of the cities that shaped them.
- Classical and modern poetry, read aloud
- Calligraphy workshops with practising khaṭṭāṭīn
- Regional history from al-Andalus to the Gulf
Qur'an Circles
Recitation and tajwīd taught slowly and patiently, in small groups, by certified reciters. Memorisation circles run alongside for those who want them.
- Beginners' recitation — letters and their points of articulation
- Tajwīd rules with weekly listening practice
- Ḥifẓ circles at your own pace
Islamic Scholarship
Open sittings with visiting scholars on belief, ethics and the traditions of study. Questions are welcome and the recordings stay available afterwards.
- One guest scholar each month
- Submitted questions answered live
- Recordings shared with everyone enrolled
Three steps, and none of them cost anything.
Tell us where you are
Look through the courses and tell us what you have studied before — or that you have not studied at all. Both answers are fine.
Sit in on a session
We will put you in a circle that matches your level for one session, with no obligation to stay.
Keep your seat
If it suits you, the seat is yours for the whole track. Materials are sent to you before each session.
Pick a track and we will find you a circle.
New groups open at the start of every season, and mid-season places come up often. Tell us which track interests you.
